Back In Time-PinHole Photography

Matthias Hagemann
celebrates the "slow photo". Well known objects appear as new ones due to the Camera Obscura.

Matthias' facination with the origins of photography started with boredom of new technology. Matthais is a German whos many pictures center around the ability of the slow photo. The increased exposure time required for the pinhole camera can create very interesting artwork. Objects which move rapidly, seem to dissapear without a trace. Slower moving objects produce a foggy blur, while stationary ones are sharply focused. The simplicity of the camera and the time consuming nature of the process are what drives this artist. The passion that he shows toward the randomness of the process is the catalyst which prods my imagination in further investigating this old- time process.
